Welcome to Agatha Falls!

Agatha Falls is an artist-run dance, performance and movement space at 322 Niagara Street in Niagara Falls, NY: a cozy, experimental platform for making and sharing art, directly.

Our inaugural exhibition: AF #1: FALSE IDOLS with Julia Dzwonkoski, Paul Knopf, Shyanna Merced opens Feb 23 and runs through April 5, 2024.

Starting in April, Agatha Falls will be offering a variety of donation-based, all-levels drop-in dance and movement classes in a range of methods. We are currently seeking teachers interested in teaching inclusive practices, reach out if this is you!

Agatha Falls began as Agatha’s — in February of 2020 as a shared art studio in the chapel of formerly St. Agatha’s Catholic School in South Buffalo, NY. Kyla Kegler began to curate exhibitions in the chapel’s two original confessional booths along with performances and experimental events on the stage (formerly the pulpit).

In February 2024, through support from NYSCA and Chashama, Agatha’s opened a new location — Agatha Falls. Chashama, founded in 1995, transforms unused properties into creative venues for artist work and show space, free arts education in under-resourced communities, and minority and women owned small businesses.

Agatha Falls has received additional support from the Generator Fund to bring visiting performance artists to Buffalo and support the creation of new time based works by local artists. The Generator Fund is a grant for artists administered by The Buffalo Institute for Contemporary Art and funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Through providing space for workshops, symposiums, discussions, rituals, classes, screenings, performances and presentations, Agatha Falls aims to re-center community, growth, play, criticality and joy in art-making.

Stay tuned, and get in touch if you are interested in being involved!
